CT Open House Day 2019 – Exhibit Opening: “Caught in the Crosshairs: The Secret of the Norden Bombsight”

The Norwalk Historical Society will be taking part in CT Open House Day 2019 on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm at the Norwalk Historical Society Museum.  Free admission for all! View the new exhibit, “Caught in the Crosshairs: The Secret of the Norden Bombsight”. “Caught in the Crosshairs: The Secret of the Norden Bombsight” explores the history behind the Norden Bombsight which was an American technological breakthrough that enabled the military to target bombs with unprecedented precision and accuracy. During World War II (1939-1945), the Bombsight was shrouded in secrecy. One of the historic Norden Bombsight’s will be on display at the Norwalk Historical Society Museum, donated by the former Northrop Grumman Norden Systems, a business that was part of the Norwalk, Connecticut community for over fifty years (1961-2013). The exhibition is curated by Judith Bacal with special thanks to those that contributed to the exhibition: Fran DiMeglio, Norden Systems Retirees Club and Norwalk History Room.
