DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 5\, 2025\, 2:00–3:30pm* Mill Hill Historic Park – Town House2 East Wall Street\, Norwalk \n\n\n\n*doors open at 1:30pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an exclusive screening of the Emmy Award-winning documentary\, “The Hidden History of Slavery in New York” — followed by a Q&A with producer Larry Epstein. \n\n\n\nAmid national debates on how slavery should be taught in schools\, high school student Richard French IV aimed to uncover the untold story of New York City’s central role in the Transatlantic Slave Trade. This 30-minute documentary\, featuring Bryan Stevenson (founder of the Equal Justice Initiative)\, highlights a chapter of history often left out of textbooks. \n\n\n\n“The Hidden History of Slavery in New York” received an award at the 67th Annual NY Emmy Awards (2024). Larry Epstein wrote\, produced\, and researched the project. During the event\, Larry will also discuss Connecticut’s significant role in the slave trade.
