This exhibit will seek to display Norwalk quilts and quilts in general in a context of the period in which they were made and to explore the design elements – material, color, pattern, technique and execution. Information gathered from hands-on samples, photographs and illustrations will further reinforce the learning experience of the visitor.  The Norwalk Museum quilts include samples of pieced; all-over pattern; cotton and silk; Compass and Log Cabin designs; and subject quilts.
